The release of mandatory new national standards for electronic product safety enhances the level of security assurance in all aspects of electronic products
The State Administration for Market Regulation (State Administration for Market Regulation) recently released the newly revised mandatory national standard "Audio Video, Information Technology and Communication Technology Equipment Part 1: Safety Requirements", which will be officially implemented on August 1, 2023. This standard will comprehensively improve the safety assurance level of electronic product design, production, testing and certification, sales, use and other links, and firmly adhere to the safety bottom line. On July 26th, the State Administration for Market Regulation held a special press conference to interpret the new version of the national standard.
In recent years, wireless charging has been widely used, and consumers may place metal items such as keys and coins on wireless chargers. Wireless chargers may generate high temperatures and pose risks such as burns and fires through energy transmission. In this regard, the new national standard clearly requires wireless chargers to have the function of identifying metal foreign objects and timely stopping energy transmission of foreign objects. With the popularization of multimedia functions in electronic devices, products such as headphones and Bluetooth headphones are highly favored by consumers. The new national standard proposes safety requirements, requiring electronic products to issue a warning and require users to confirm when the earphone volume accumulates above the specified limit within a certain period of time. If not confirmed, the earphone volume will automatically decrease to a safe level. For portable electronic products powered by rechargeable batteries, the new national standard focuses on battery safety issues, stipulating safety requirements such as battery overcharging protection, temperature protection, shell fire protection, and drop protection.
The new version of the national standard has achieved a "ruler" for product production, testing, and spot checks, reducing the burden on enterprises and improving market efficiency; The new national standard proposes specific safety requirements and testing methods for new technologies such as wireless charging and Bluetooth earphones, aiming to protect personal and property safety from multiple aspects such as electric shock prevention, fire prevention, overheating prevention, and sound and light radiation prevention; The main technical content of the new version of the national standard is consistent with international standards. Enterprises producing electronic products according to the new version of the national standard can meet the requirements of the international security assessment system, eliminate international trade technical barriers, and help China's electronic products go global.
